WHERE DID YOUR DUES DOLLARS GO? CCA ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN 2016-2017
  • Three successful conferences -- Membership, Bargaining and Advocacy
  • Membership Grants to Long Beach, Chaffey and San Joaquin Delta for member engagement campaigns, in conjunction with CTA and NEA staff
  • Membership blitzes and new strategies for reaching part-time faculty
  • Review of and positions on over 200 community college bills
  • Education of local leaders on member engagement
  • Support of part-time faculty issues through our Part-Time Faculty Issues Committee
  • Attendance at Board of Governors, Consultation Council and Council of Faculty Organizations meetings
  • Meetings with CTA and NEA leaders
  • Organizing April 4 Educators United with our Communities event
  • Attendance at NEA Higher Education Conference in Dallas and presentation of a CCA session
  • Advocacy for Higher Ed at the CTA Equity and Human Rights Conference by presenting a Higher Ed session
  • Work with CCA chapter presidents at the July Presidents' Conference
  • Relationship-building at the CTA Legislative Reception for state legislators
  • Strengthening our relationship with Student CTA and presentation of an SCTA session at Winter Conference
  • Collaboration with SCTA in sponsoring "The Force Awakens"

  • Representation of CCA and presentation at the National Conference on Bargaining in Higher Education and the Professions
